"This was an amazing buy! My husband had been talking about this thing for months - so I got it for his birthday and he was excited to go camping and try it out! We didn't even glance at the instructions before going up, we just never found the time to do so. But the instructions were super user friendly and we got right to it in no time! How much electricity does the CampStove 2+ produce?

3 Watts at peak output. The hotter the fire, the more power produced.

Can the CampStove 2+ work with cookware I already own?

Yes, CampStove 2+ can work with kettles and camping pots and pans. We do not recommend heavy cast-iron and cookware with diameters greater than 10" as these create unstable cooking surfaces given the small footprint of CampStove. If you're looking for larger group cooking, we recommend using the BioLite KettlePot or Portable Grill which are designed to work specifically with CampStove while maximizing cooking capacity.

How do you start a fire inside the CampStove 2+?

Fill your burn chamber ¾ of the way with fuel (this can be small dry sticks or pellets – don’t overstuff or you’ll block the air jets that help combust the smoke) 2) Use a small piece of firestarter (included with all CampStove 2+s) and light with a match or lighter and place inside your chamber (we recommend bbq lighters if you’re in windy conditions, you can light directly inside the chamber). 3) Once the CampStove 2+’s heat probe gets hot enough the fan will turn on and start to stoke your fire. If you have a little bit of smoke before the fan turns on that is normal - it will go away when the fan kicks in.

What type of fuel is best for the CampStove?

CampStove 2+ works best with dry solid biomass like sticks and pellets. Dense hardwoods like cedar burn longer than softer woods like pine. For ultimate ease and convenience, pellets offer a seamless sustained burn.

What is the FlexLight? how does it work?

The FlexLight is an included USB gooseneck lamp that you can tap on, off, and dim all with the touch of a finger. It can be powered directly from the CampStove's USB out located on the power pack and is a great way to illuminate your cooktop when cooking with the CampStove at night. Outside of camping, FlexLight makes a great laptop light and reading light when paired with a powerbank.

Can I use this during burn bans?

Parks vary by region and season, you must check with your local ranger for restrictions specific to your park and area. For parks with the strictest policies (safety first!) BioLite BaseCharge power stations can run electric cook tops, instant pots, blenders, and more.

This is great for hiking or a power outage

Wife bought this for me a couple of years ago. I've tested it extensively and it is the coolest thing ever. A small piece of birch bark or moss with some twigs gets it going and it will recharge your phone or gps/watch no problem. Will also recharge a small usb flashlight like the OLight IMINI. Flat top will let you boil water for drinking or tea at the same time and use a small frying pan for fish or whatever. I can't recommend this highly enough. They also make a nifty LED light that plugs right into the unit.

awsome.. five minutes collecting twigs on the way to camp is Enuff for that night's dinner and charge my phone.. lol.. plus it weighs less than 2 to 3 days gas with ultralight kit. so buy day 4 it's lighter than ultra light kit .win win

Meat over Fire!

We used our generation one so much that we had to use a seperate battery to keep this one going. YES, we love the product so much that once the generation one was hard to use, we got this new one, and we love it! small changes and high quality. We love cooking over fire in camping trips and boil our tea water, make soup, etc.

Durable and compact

I bought my Biolite Camp Stove 2 when they came out. I am unsure when that was, but I’ve used it for years. It is fantastic to pack on your motorcycle and go. I threw it in a bag, flew to Hawaii, and slept on the beaches there. It is not heavy. The coffee pot is a great place to store the whole kit. It is durable, and I guess it’ll last my entire lifetime. I might even be able to pass it on to my kids. I’ve never had an issue with the battery, which I assumed would fail after 3 to 5 years, but it is going strong. I can’t recommend the stove more. When I’m camping (like in Hawaii), I usually buy a package of hardwood smoking chips if I know that I’m not allowed to gather firewood, which is the case in most state and national parks. They work great. My stove is a faithful companion and has traveled thousands of miles, making me coffee☕ and breakfast 🍳 in almost every state. I haven’t been to Alaska yet, but that might be in the plan. Also, I didn’t mention the one time I complained about an accessory Biolite that has Biolite has fantastic customer service. They did a great job of trying to solve my problem. They replaced the item, no questions asked. I have because it’s such a great company. I have purchased all the accessories and the large camping fireplace stove, too. I only wish the big stove had the same technology for the battery, but it never seems to need charging but once a year anyways.Thank you for inventing great camping tools.

Small but so useful

Was gifted to my son for his small camper van. He couldn’t wait to experiment. It’s much better and safer than an open fire pit. He boiled water for noodles, boiled eggs and pan fried steaks on the first use. He was delighted.

This unit is very easy to use, it gives off amazing heat, works well with small pieces of sticks haven’t tried it with wood pellets yet, popsicle sticks work well also
